The Power of Siberia is one of the major construction sites of our times.
The gas pipeline will connect the oil fields in Irkutsk Region through Yakutia with Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. The total length of the route is over 4,000 km and the pipeline’s capacity is 61 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It is scheduled for launching in 2017-2018.
OMK role in the project
In 2014 OMK has already produced 30 000 tons of large diameter pipes (diameter — 1420 mm) for the project. The company has also won rights to supply around a quarter of pipes for the project in 2015-2016.
The gas pipeline is intended for delivering gas from Eastern Siberia’s major gas fields — the Irkutsk and Yakutsk gas extraction centers — to China’s densely populated eastern regions experiencing an acute fuel shortage. Implementing the project activates the economic development of Russia’s Far Eastern regions and ensures a maximum gas supply for them.
